“Flowers hold a special place in my heart. Back in Mariupol, I had a lovely rose garden, and now that I'm here in Batumi, I plan to start another flower garden," says Olga. For two years now, she has been living in Batumi, the main city on the Black Sea coast of Georgia, having left Ukraine in April 2022 due to the war. She expresses gratitude towards her friends and ASB, with its partner organizations: Unite Together and SSK, for helping her settle into life in Georgia.

"It was tough when I first arrived, but with the support of my friends and ASB Georgia, I managed to adapt," she adds. Olga has found solace in Georgia, making many local friends who share her love for Ukrainian cuisine while she learns to cook Georgian dishes.
      

ASB Georgia, with its partner organizations: Unite Together (UT) and SSK, has been instrumental in her integration process, offering various programs to support Ukrainian refugees, like her. These include the Cash Transfer Program for basic necessities, as well as additional support such as the Winterization Program during the winter months to help with utility bills. Beyond financial aid, ASB Georgia also provides opportunities for physical and mental health activities such as art and sport classes, yoga, Georgian and English language lessons, and other events.

While Olga appreciates the support ASB Georgia provides, she acknowledges that due to her health, she's unable to participate in all the activities offered. Nevertheless, she emphasizes the vital role ASB Georgia plays in her life.

“When we first arrived here, we only had one suitcase, mostly packed with documentation. The assistance provided has been invaluable to me, and I'm truly grateful to ASB Georgia for everything you've done," she concludes.
