2 years away from home - On February 24th, 2022 a full-scale war broke out in Ukraine

Katerina, a single mother with a two-year-old child, arrived in Georgia from Ukraine in 2022, accompanied by her mother. Despite the hardships and the longing for her homeland, Katerina and her family displayed resilience and determination.

"When we arrived here, we had only one suitcase filled with baby clothes. No one could have predicted that our stay would be this long. Despite missing our home country, we have managed to construct a semblance of normal life here, thanks to the invaluable support of ASB Georgia. The assistance we receive from ASB Georgia holds tremendous significance for us. They provide us with a monthly cash transfer, and we also benefit from their winterization program, which offers additional aid. As my 72-year-old mother grapples with health issues, she requires medical attention and medications. Therefore, we are deeply grateful to ASB Georgia for being a pillar of support during these challenging times."

Through the monthly cash transfers, Katerina and her family were able to meet their basic needs and create a stable environment for their child. Additionally, the winterization program extended a helping hand, ensuring their well-being during the harsh winter months.

"Kherson Oblast is fully occupied. We hope that we will return soon, but no one knows when that day will come. Therefore, the assistance from ASB Georgia holds immense importance for us, as it aids us in our journey of integration and rebuilding our lives. We express our heartfelt gratitude for it!” -shared Katerina with heartfelt appreciation.
