EMTCC Training Course in Georgia

ASB Georgia, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied territories, Labor, Health, and Social Affairs of Georgia – MoH, was pleased to host the very first EURO Sub-Regional EMTCC Training Course in Georgia from November 5th to 10th.

 

The aim of the course was to train participants in the EMT coordination methodology, in order to support the national response. The training was focused on national health operations and EMT Coordination as well as development of regionally based personnel who could be seconded to an EMTCC during emergency response operations requiring both national and/or international EMT response.

 

Representatives from Ministry of Health, NDCD, Ministry of Internal Affairs, EMTs from Georgia and Armenia, EMT EURO, WHO EURO, Ukraine as well as Reginal and national Red Cross attended EMTCC Training Course.

 

The event was conducted by WHO and ASB Georgia with hosting arrangements funded by the General Directorate of European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG-ECHO) within the project 'Stronger Together – Cooperation Action to Respond to Cross-Border Emergencies'.
