Provision of secondhand fire engine for Kutaisi city

Since March 2022, ASB office in Georgia implements the project “Provision of secondhand fire engine for Kutaisi city” in close cooperation with the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia (EMS) funded by GGP Grassroots Human Security Grant Program of the Embassy of Japan  

The project contributes to the protection of the health and welfare of the citizens of Georgia by improving emergency preparedness and response capability of the Emergency Management Service (EMS). The project entails procurement and transportation of the fire engine to Georgia and training for firefighters on how to use the new equipment. 

Through the successful implementation of the project the capacity of the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia to response to all kind of natural and man-made disasters as well as the trust in society will be increased

After the fire engine has been procured and firefighters have been trained, EMS will take primary responsibility for continued maintenance, storage, and monitoring of the use of the vehicle for at least the next 20 years.
