ASB Georgia and Judo Federation Signed Memorandum of Understanding

On July 12, 2023, a meeting was held between the representatives of ASB Georgia and the president and vice-president of the Judo Federation. The parties signed a memorandum of understanding for close cooperation in ASB Georgia’s new project and future joint activities concerning supporting vulnerable people in Georgia. As per the agreement, the Judo Federation will provide self-defense, self-confidence building and de-escalation classes to 1300 Ukrainian girls, women and boys over a period of 18 months.

Within the framework of the new project, Ukrainian citizens living in Georgia will receive monthly cash assistance to address their basic needs. During the winter season, the beneficiaries will receive additional financial assistance through Winterization. In addition to financial aid, Hresnics, traditional Ukrainian family helpers, will offer psycho-social support to the beneficiaries. The project targets persons with disability, families with elderly people, families with multiple children and single headed households.

ASB is one of the biggest and oldest social assistance organizations in Germany, with over 1.3 million members.
