I Am Proud to...

ASB Georgia is dedicated to supporting vulnerable women and girls, actively working to eliminate gender-based violence (GBV) and domestic violence (DV) in our communities.

Under the theme "I Am Proud", we encourage everyone to recognize and celebrate the courage, resilience, and strength of survivors. This initiative aims to shift the focus from fear to empowerment, and from silence to action.

Recent statistics reveal: according to the UN and local NGOs, nearly one in four women in Georgia have experienced physical or sexual violence at some point in their lives. Alarmingly, 78% of these incidents go unreported, often due to stigma and fear of retaliation.

On the photo is a proud woman who has bravely taken the step to report abuse. Her expression reflects both strength and determination, embodying the message of resilience in the face of violence. She stands as a testament to the importance of speaking out and seeking justice.

Reporting violence is a vital and crucial action in safeguarding lives and promoting justice. By making a report, survivors break the cycle of abuse, initiate accountability, and ensure essential support services are accessible.

In Georgia, survivors can report GBV and DV by calling 112. The accompanying banner provides additional contact information for social services and crisis support, highlighting the resources available for those in need.

Every single share, every voice, and every call for help is crucial. Find the vital resources for reporting and consultation on the banner above.

This initiative is implemented within the project Rise Georgia. Please follow the link to find out more about the project: Rise Georgia

Together, we can change the narrative—empowering survivors, holding abusers accountable, and fostering a culture where violence is no longer tolerated.
