ASB Georgia Participated In One-week Multinational Full-scale Exercise

Within the project Stronger Together – Cooperative Action to Respond to Cross-Border Emergencies funded by the European Commission Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations – DG-ECHO on June 15-16, ASB Georgia in close cooperation with the PPRD East 3 program and the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia participated in a one-week multinational full-scale exercise focused on different types of emergencies.

The full-scale exercise was carried out within the program Prevention, Preparedness and Response to natural and man-made disasters in Eastern Partnership countries Phase 3 (PPRD East 3) and included coordination actions in headquarters as well as the field. 

The firefighters and rescuers from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Moldova, together with the Georgian emergency medical team, took part in the multinational full-scale exercise. The exercise was attended by “PPRD EAST 3” program experts, representatives of partner countries and the EU delegation. 

The full-scale exercise was carried out according to a scenario close to reality and included various types of fire-rescue operations, large-scale forest fires, CBRN incident response, etc. The exercise aimed to improve the coordination among multinational fire-rescue teams and test the support procedures during emergencies.
