ASB’s Regional Director visited Western Georgia

As part of ASB's ongoing project - RISE Georgia, a meeting with the Regional Director, Mr. Clemens von Heimendahl, brought together social workers, beneficiaries, and members of self-help groups in Adjara and Guria region of Georgia. A key focus of the visit was to see the progress and situation of the initiative.

During the visit, discussions centered around the establishment of 30 self-help groups designed to empower women and provide a support network. The participants talked about how the VET trainings have improved their self-confidence, making their lives easier. With the skills and support gained from the project, these women feel more equipped to tackle issues related to domestic and gender-based violence.
The Regional Director emphasized the importance of collaboration and community engagement in advancing the project's goals. Engaging dialogues brought new ideas and inspired a collective commitment to further enhance community resilience.

The project RISE Georgia - Reducing Inequality and Supporting Empowerment for Women in Crises - is funded by the Republic of Austria, represented by the Federal Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care, and Consumer Protection, and ASB Germany.
